Why The Girl Standard?
The relationships girls build with each other can shape how they see themselves - and what they believe they are capable of.
Friendships can be one of the greatest sources of confidence and belonging for girls, but they can also be the source of comparison, exclusion and pressure. The Girl Standard helps girls understand these dynamics, build healthier relationships and develop the confidence to be themselves, speak up and aim high without feeling they have to make themselves smaller to fit in.
At the same time, many young people are getting fewer opportunities to practice the everyday skills that still matter - communicating face-to-face, making eye contact, introducing themselves, handling difficult conversations and presenting themselves with confidence.
That's why The Girl Standard goes beyond talking about confidence. We practice it.
Through discussion, real-life scenarios and practical activities, our programmes give girls - and through Future Ready, young people more broadly - opportuniites to develop skills they can use in friendships, education, work and everyday life.
